Carmelo Anthony Chairs AAU Alumni Youth Basketball Advisory Council

10-time NBA All-Star spearheads initiative to grow youth basketball across the country

Future NBA Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony, a one-time AAU athlete, is chair of the newly launched AAU Alumni Youth Basketball Advisory Council.

The advisory council is comprised of AAU basketball alumni and members of the wider basketball community. The council advocates for the development of youth basketball in the United States.

“Carmelo and the advisory council will help us forge a stronger connection to the youth basketball community,” said Jo Mirza, AAU President.

“I look forward to partnering with AAU and the other members of the AAU Alumni Youth Basketball Advisory Council in our commitment to reinvigorating the program,” said Carmelo Anthony. “AAU has had a long-standing presence in youth basketball and as the youth basketball landscape continues to evolve, it is important to continue to deliver top-notch training and events for the players, coaches and parents it serves.”
